22nd July, 2021: Application for outline planning submitted
It’s exciting times for Barney Fields and all those who have worked so hard to get things this far as we have now submitted an application for outline planning permission. You can view the full suite of documents and comment on the application on the Torridge District Council planning portal using reference number: 1/0782/2021/OUT.
You should be able to find out all you need about the outline planning application in the Design and Access Statement below. We’d welcome your thoughts on the plans developed so far… Contact us
19th March 2021: Barney Fields Ltd has entered into contract with Hartland Parish Community Land Trust and Aster
After many months of work by Barney Fields, The Hartland Parish Community Land Trust and Aster, we have now agreed the formal terms for how the site’s affordable homes will be owned and managed. The innovative agreement is one of the first of its kind and allows for Hartland Parish Community Land Trust to hold a significant stake in new affordable homes. This will mean that although homes will be managed by Aster as our partner housing association, the local community will be able to set a local lettings policy, have democratic involvement in their delivery and receive a modest ground rent to maintain the CLT in its community benefit objectives. Many thanks to all those in the HPCLT and Aster for working with us and for the invaluable support of Wessex Community Assets and Homes England.
November 2019: Public exhibition on the vision for Barney Fields
To keep the community up to date on plans for Barney Fields and consult on some initial ideas, we held a very well attended exhibition at the Church Rooms. Great to see so many people make it along to share their views and ideas. Let us know if you have any ideas and comments via our contact page.
